- Dual Voltage Polarizer -
A voltage polarizer (also known as a bipolar VCA or a 4-quadrant multiplier) is often viewed as the VCA better suited for CV. As it can be used as a unipolar VCA and it allows you to invert a signal when it is modulated with a negative voltage. Resulting in interesting movements in your modulations.
What sets Arkan apart from other voltage polarizers is the curvature control, a feature usually only seen in unipolar VCAs. By taking a different approach to the classic voltage polarizer circuitry, we devised a unique solution that provides a new way to shape your audio and CV. The non-linearity of the polarizer also makes Arkan really good at reaching silence when presented with a 0V CV signal.
Two identical channels with carefully selected features will make Arkan your go-to modulation control hub. We find Arkan especially useful for common utility duties such as mixing, scaling, inverting and offsetting. As well as CV modulation, feedback patching, and waveshaping. All this makes Arkan a very versatile tool that will certainly have a place in your patch!
- Variable Character Filter -
Every analog filter has its own voice; warm, sharp, liquid, or aggressive. But that character is usually fixed at the design stage, leaving the musician with limited control over how the filter behaves.
Faun breaks this limitation with a unique design that allows continuous slopes across all four filter types. With a single knob, you decide exactly how the curve of the filter should be.
A dedicated Timbre circuit introduces ripple in the passband (like adding a comb filter) without changing type or slope. This moves Faun between smooth, vocal or liquid, depending on how you patch and play it. While using strong Timbre settings, internal gain increases; adding saturation to the tone.
With four simultaneous outputs (lowpass, highpass, bandpass, and notch types), Faun excels as a clean and precise filter, ideal for buttery sweeps, liquid textures, and dreamlike arpeggios. However when pushed through the variable gain input and higher Timbre settings, it can reveal bold acid lines and a touch of grit. Ideal when you want to add more color!
- Kick Drum Synthesizer -
A kick drum lays down the foundation of your track, the root of your beat. You need the low end to create a pumping motion and the high end to cut through the mix. All this while maintaining spectral room for other sounds. So it can be quite an undertaking to get right.
Which is why we developed Mandrake. A kick drum synthesizer that targets kick drum sounds for Dance, House and Techno music. Inspired by physical models, DAW drum synthesis and sound mixing techniques. It divides the sound into a "Hit" and "Body", with sound shaping possibilities for both sections.
Mandrake is not another 808 or 909 clone; its analog circuitry is entirely built from scratch to create an original sound. Also nothing more than a great kick; ranges to get into detail, and useful kick drum sounds throughout its settings!
- Cascaded Buffer System -
Small utilities can make a big difference in your system. Whether you need to buffer, mix, mult, amplify, attenuate, or even average signals, Tunda gives you the flexibility to decide while you patch.
At its core, Tunda is a cascaded buffer system that adapts to your routing needs. It can function as a 4:1 mixer, 1:4 mult, 2:2 split, or other combinations. While multiple units can be linked together for even longer chains.
Beyond routing, Tunda also serves as a precision amplifier or attenuator, perfect for adjusting audio levels or CV with precise ratios. Simply patch it to amplify by 2, 3, or 4, or attenuate by 0.75, 0.5, or 0.25.
By opening up the building blocks of common mixers and mults, Tunda turns from a small utility into a versatile problem-solver. Instead of deciding in advance whether you need a mixer or mult, Tunda lets you choose on the fly, adapting to your patching style and workflow.
- Stereo Saturation Controller -
Saturation is a sound designer’s best friend. As applying saturation to a sound can make it sound warm, rich and defined. But without any other processing the opposite can happen; making the sound harsh, destroyed and undefined. An often used technique in music production is to saturate specific parts of the spectrum, adding harmonics to enrich the sound but not lose its original quality.
Wyvern takes this technique and makes it a creative sound design tool. When deconstructed Wyvern is built out of a specific chain: Filter EQ, Saturation, VCA, Dual Filter, Dry/Wet Balance. Different combinations of these stages can be used for a variety of sound design and patch situations. And it is all in stereo, so you can apply it to your final mix and stereo signals with ease too!
Whether you are looking to destroy your sound or go for subtle analog warmth; Wyvern has got you covered. Even when not used for saturation alone. It can be a Stereo Tone Controller, EQ, Filter, VCA and Phaser, all and anything in between. Making it a very fun and powerful sound design tool!
